Contrast Therapy

Contrast Therapy combines Cold Plunge and Infrared Sauna sessions to maximize your recovery. Where both modalities seek to reduce inflammation - pairing the two together creates a powerhouse for recovery.

The Reset offers a guided experience where breathwork and meditation become powerful recovery tools at Soak Wellness in Montrose, Colorado.

Instructions for Contrast Therapy

  1. Arrive 15 minutes early, fill out waiver if it's your first time
  2. Shower before entering the Cold Plunge, unless freshly showered & clean previous to coming to Soak.
  3. Take a break on the chair or lay down on a provided yoga mat. Be conscious of your breath & try to fully connect with it and become aware of your body.
  4. Step into the Cold Plunge & slide down so your shoulders are below the surface. Find your breath, and try to practice deep breathing calmly for 2-3 minutes (ideally).
  5. Slowly get out of the Cold Plunge. Once out of the Cold Plunge, do NOT dry off or cross your arms. Stand in a power pose (fists on hips, head up, shoulders back, back straight) or practice Tai Chi movements. Both options help to circulate blood flow and warm the body slowly.
  6. Dry off & step into the infrared sauna.
* If you choose to go back & forth between the Cold Plunge and infrared sauna you MUST shower after again your sauna. There should not be more than 2-3 sets of contrast during your timed session.
